fet bypass vs 3PDT switching (I have to choose before complete the pedal!)

Hi I've almost finished my rebote 2, and it works great, also tested with voice and it's ice too!. So I'm ready to put it in the box, but I would like to have, instead of a mechanical 3DPTswitch, what I call an electronic switch just like Boss-Danelectro pedals, using a momentary switch instead, I've learnt in this forum that it is possible with a "fet bypass switching" using 4066 and ICs like that. I saw a lot of schematics everywere but I'am not able to create a PCB layout , as my skills in electronics is not that good. Does anybody has a PCB layout that I can etch and put in the box together with the FX PCB.
Thanks to all for you help.

if you want to know wether or not to use true bypass instead of electronic witching, read this:
http://www.muzique.com/lab/truebypass.htm

as for electronic witching, many people use the Millennium Bypass. I have not used this yet but it seems to be the high quality standard around here:
http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/Millenium/millen.htm look at version 2 i suppose?

The millenium is mechanical switching, just with electronics to turn an LED on.  There is a 4053 electronic switching article on Geofex, though, that works well.  To unfortunately continue being the geek that comes along and corrects everyone, FET switching (like Boss uses) is different than CMOS switching (which uses the 4066 you mentioned, or the 4053).

Unless there is something you need the electronic switching for (like if you had a cool momentary switch you wanted to use), for a newcomer to electronics I'd use a 3pdt if you can get one, as its the most direct approach.

Thx to all of you, what I need is to avoid that 3PDT or any other mechanical switch and use just a momentary switch, I mean you push it  and the FX is on, you push it again and the FX is off. I don't like the mechanical noise that came from the switch. All(just 5!) my FXs turn on with a "push button" just like the Boss Pedals. I saw that article about the electronic switch but, as I said, I'm not able to make from that a PCB layout, that's what I need. Cmos or FET I dont mind, just something that works.
Thx again.

what do you mean by noise? if you mean the actual snap-like click sound then on stage you won't come close to hearing it! it'd be worth it for the piece of mind of feeling a good strong click under your foot and having less hiss on your tone. even at bedroom it's not so bad. or do you mean the slight electronic pop noise when you toggle the switch? you can minimize that in a couple of ways if that's what you mean...

I mean the "click" when you press it with your foot, not the electronic "pop". The fact is that first I dont play on stage, I just play at home for myself ( and sometime I say "booooohh" to myself :-), and most of the time thx FX are lean on the table and I use them by hand, so that "click" become a gun shot!! Thx

ohhh. if it's by hand then i can totally understand that. it wouldn't be as practical as electronic switching, but if you wanted true bypass you could use a regular toggle switch.
