someone mentioned it to me, but i cant figure it out...i want a DIY quaity upgrade version of this. does anyone know what im talking about? id like to have one big cable supply 3 instrument cables within...you know?

im really bad with words, today.  :D

it's pretty much the same as what you have, except they're all wrapped up together.  snakes are commonly used in studios and for sound in venues for setting up mixing boards.  it's really just a big fat cable that starts and ends in anywhere from probably 4-32 xlr or 1/4" connections.  you could make your own snake easily...

Audio-video cable. Just solder on 1/4 in. plugs.

Hey Jonathan, Metro Electronics (in Sacramento) has a cable with 5 individually shielded cables inside, I made a pedal snake out of that.  The individual cables are kind of fine and delicate though, when you bring them out at the amp end for all the connections.  I made mine a little more robust by using a bunch of heat shrink, but now I'm thinking a little tiny plastic project box on the end of the multi cable would be better, and graft on real instrument cable for the amp connections from that box.  Then it would be easier to modify for other amps, etc.

I used one of the conductors to carry 9v from the amp end, I was a little paranoid about how much current could go through the tiny center conductor, but so far, no problems (I'd guess all my pedals run under 200mA).  One thing I was thinking would be to use the ground shield from two of the cables as the + and - of the power supply, then you could crank tons of current through it.  The center conductors on those two could then be used for non audio uses, like the + and - of an amp switch.
