So i am in the middle of finishing a few projects and i just realised I dont have any way of holding the board to the enclosure.
Can I hot glue it to it? I have seen if a few of my pedals i have bought the companies have done that. What do you guys do?

This is in the GEO FAQ, but I still use the old method that R.G. suggested. Heavy Duty Velcro - the 3M stuff.

i usually leave it unattached with the trace side of the board facing down. on the underside lid, i glue some non-conductive packing foam. that's the simplest way ive seen.

others like to leave a mounting hole on the board itself (for either the stompswitch, LED, or some mounting standoff). another great way is to use double sided sticky pads. affix them straight to the trace side of the board and then to the enclosure.

I've hot glued a couple of things which I'm confident that I'm not going to have to take apart later

otherwise I use self adhesive plastic standoffs

In the really, really old days (8 years ago!!!!) I used cable tie and cardboard on the bottom to keep the board from shorting out. It worked fine!!!! ;D

msurdin

thanks for the help, the velcro seams the best for me right now.

Too old to rock'n'roll, too young to die

I usually use standoffs when possible.
If not, 3M double sided tape works well too.

Short Circuit

I found velcro in a craft store and I almost have to take pliers to get the stuff apart.
As a matter of fact, I use the velcro to attach my pedals to the pedalboard.
Works great

Posted this before: I like using nylon bolts and nuts to make standoffs.
I cut them to the right length so they get compressed by the lid.
The nuts let you hover the PCB above other parts.
Easy to get the circuit out too. Nothing to cut melt or tear off.

It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith

+1 on the industrial strength velcro.  Fast, easy and very secure.  Never had any problems with it.  Available in sheets that you cut with scissors or strips on a roll.  I buy the sheets and a package does quite a bunch of pedals.

Great!

I've tried soldering heavy copper wire to perfboard to make loopy "stilts" that can be bent around different ways.

Here's a look at the stand-offs.....
