LED Power before or after filtering?

Was just wondering. Do you all usually feed your LED raw current (after your resister of choice) or do you take your current off of the board, after your power filtering (assuming you have filtering)? My usual setup is a 100 ohm res. in series then into a 330uf cap to gnd.

Just thought about it today, and wondered if there was a "right" way.

thanks!

chuck.

Before any filtering. That way any tendency to pop when actuated is attenuated.

If you have a series diode from the power suppy to the circuit to protect from reverse voltage, it can go before that too, because it itself is a diode and won't be damaged from any reversed power supply.
