Hi, I've a problem with a Fuzz face circuit using AC128 with Pos. ground and a WahWah circuit with Neg. ground. They are at the moment mounted on a test-board, so they share power supply like this

----------------------     ----------------------
!                          !      !                          !
!fuzz circuit           !      ! wha circuit         !
!--in-------out-------pwr --in-------out-------

Used one at a time they work fine but when I connect them, out of fuzz to in of wha (or the other way round) there's not sound at all.

I'm almost sure this has to do with Neg and Pos. ground isn't it, but my skills at not that good to arrive at a solution.

How can I have this work ?

If I build them, as is my intention, in to 2 separate pedals, will this problem solved

Fuzz is arbiter fuzz from Fuzz central at http://www.fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/fuzzface.php (you all know this!)
Wah is an old schematic (early '70s!) I got from a friend, it uses a LM1458

Thanks guys for your help

  I might be offtrack so...
When a Pos and Neg gnd. effect share the power supply, the pos gnd effect has V+ connected to ground, that same ground connected to V_ creates a direct short in the power supply, with the supply _/+ both being connected to ground.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Thx Petemoore, so you mean I need to power the positive ground effect with a separate source, but when I chain it with other effects, the ground of the input and output jacks will then mixup again?

If you use a "positive ground" power supply and a "negative ground" one together then you have +9,0,-9.
0 volts is ground for both power supplies so they work fine together. Something like that anyway, use the Search for much better and more detailed answers  ;)

Easiest thing to do is use a battery for the fuzzface. Or just build the fuzzface negative ground instead, this doesn't always work properly but it's worth trying.

Tone purist use 9v carbon batteries, they are supposed to have some mojo...

I use a six AA holder (or better, AAA which are hard to get in my town). They last for years.
