so, is there any real connection between those two circuit types? like, does the tube just replace one (or a few) components out of the "regular" TS style OD? or is it a complete different circuit?

any examples (schems or something with differences) would be appreciated

cheers

It is usually a completely different circuit but it is possible to design something with the tube replacing part of a solid state circuit like you said. If you wanted to compare really simply look here:

cool, thanks for the quick reply aron!

so, what the link's suggesting is that a triode tube works similar to a transistor? so could i just go and replace transistors in a TS circuit with tubes?

Yes you could, but that would be ridiculous since the transistors in the TS don't do enough to warrant doing this.

hendriko

haha alright..would be fun though   :P

thanks for the info!
