Dumb question about DIY Layout Creator

I've been drawing my layouts on graph paper, doing many iterations and redraws. Lots of erasing. I finally started reading the thread on the DIY Layout software.

This is a drawing program, correct? In other words, I'm assuming there's no connection made to logic or circuit principles, right? (I said it was a dumb question. )  So I have to have a clue about the size of components, etc., to make good use of this software, it seems.

yep, only drawing. It has basic routines to check if two nodes are connected, though
