I built a Stratoblaster and decided it wasn't for me, but now I have an enclosure drilled and laid out for one knob. Anybody got any favorite one-knob circuits I can replace it with? I'm open to pretty much anything. Thanks!

orange squeezer
AMZ mosfet booster
super hard-on
mixer looper box (to mix a pedal signal with your dry signal) (you'll have to drill 2 more holes for the send-return)
passive wah (a wah circuit with a single pot to set a fixed sound.... pretty cool if you don't want to carry a full wah-wah around...)

A Phase 45 is good to have around and will fit in a small enclosure easily.

I love me an LPB.  And of course, any 2-knob build where you find yourself leaving one knob alone is a good candidate for a one-knob box ;)

The beginner project! It's overlooked by many because of the word "beginner" in the title, but it's a great little 1 knob boost.

Orange squeezer comp?  As for the Strato Blaster,  I built one into my multi effect bypass pedal and use it as a stand alone booster a lot.  I guess it's not for everyone but I for one thinks it's actually a pretty decent buffer.

Oh yeah, the Stratoblaster is a good booster and buffer, it just wasn't necessary for me, and my friends didn't want it, so it went into the "Nah" drawer.

I like the idea of the Orange Squeezer and the One Knob Fuzz...I don't know much about the SHO or some of the others.

Keep'em comin! I had no idea there were so many one knob builds.

I second the bazz fuss. Make the volume controll a trimpot, and put the thickness controll from the deluxe version on the outside of the box. I built one like that for a friend, and it goes all the way from a slightly overdrived trebblebooster to a full on synthy fuzz. By far my favourite fuzz, and it's super simple to build.

You could also make the kay trem without the blend pot.

Woah!... Super hard-on? Any links to schems or layouts for that bad boy?
No relation to the zvex pedal with the same name?

Thanks!

Is that a plastic washing basket?

Green Ringer with the Null mod.

I second the NPN boost (aka Beginner Boost), personally I like it a lot more than the LPB and other boosters. Seems so much cleaner to my ears. One thing to notice is that the metal enclosure NPNs sound smoother and cleaner than the plastic regular ones. I've tried the 2n2222 and 2n2222a in metal enclosures, both sound very much alike, couldn't make out much difference. The 2n2222 with the regular to92 body sounded more distorted and less round to me.

Phase45 is nice as well, I used the Tonepad PCB print and that wouldn't fit in a 1590B.
