Hello, i have the above amp, but never use it.

i decided at one point to do a ruby conversion using the chasis, but have since reconsidered and want to salvage some of the circuitry.

here are my reasons.

1/ a perfectly usuable mains power section
2/useable eq section.

id quite like to replace the power amp section with something better, and build in a mosfet boost as a pre amp.

so heres the question, anyone know where schematics can be found for the g10 in order to save me a lot of time tracing out the circuit?

in the end id like to mod it with a new diy low powered ss class a power amp, bypassable mosfet boost as a preamp, pre and post eq sections. in order to acheive this i really need to figure out the schem so i can "cut" out the eq section, and make use of the mains transformer section of the circuit.

I got one a few years ago very cheap, I repaired some scratchy pots and rewired the mains
- almost killed myself when the chassis went LIVE !!
I changed out three opamps for some better ones and adjusted the drive/diodes, which are
easy to spot ( no schem ! ) it sounded quite good to be honest.
Have recently guttted it and fitted a Heavy Watter valve circuit ( almost done ) only kept the main
inputs and chassis.

i dont like the sound of it, i prefer a cleaner sound, which is why i had the idea of a mosfet boost as a preamp to a power amp with a big headroom. i know what you mean about spotting the drive diodes, it seems to be kind of a tubescreamer circuit being used as a preamp? jrc4558 + 2 back to back diodes to ground?

actually iv been toying with the idea of cutting two holes out the top and having two modded fish n chips graphic eq's on the top of the amp for pre and post eq. id really like to make use of the transformer and mains input as i dont have much of a clue about that sort of thing.

also, i might salvage that big heatsink.
