I really want to mod my vpjr so It is only one cable in. I would be using this with a multi effects board i am making. I dont want to be able to turn it on of off but just be able to plug in to the board and have in inbetween some effects. How would I mod this and build the part to have it in between the effects in the board.

This would help alot

Thanks

If you don't mind the signal running the distance of the cable, you could simply use three conductor (stereo) cable, with the signal coming into the volume pedal via the ring and returning from the volume pedal via the tip.  I've seen effects loops on amps that work this way.

A ltitle jiggery and you could make this work w/o having to drastically alter the pedal, allowing you to use it on it's own with unmodified gear via means of a switch or something, or using the tuner out jack if that's something you don't use.

Seems like a less than ideal solution, however - might as well keep all the signals inside the multi effects unit youre building.

I would do something with like the Anderton volume pedal retrofit ( schematic and PCB over at tonepad) with simply the potentiometer being the only part residing in the volume pedal itself - the in and out connections on the VPR board would simply be hardwired to whatever effects preceded and followed it, (probably to the switches of those effects if they have their own 3PDT bypass) and run a jack for a stereo cable to he three connections on the board for your potentiometer.

At the volume pedal, replace one of the jacks (I'd suggest the tuner out jack, again, since you could leave the rest of the volume pedal alone this way and still use it in it's stock form if need be; although
you lose the tuner out capabilities) with a stereo jack, with the tip, ring and sleeve each connected to one of the lugs on the pot inside.

I dont really care about changing the whole thing. I accualy would prefer it only having one jack on it. Call me lazy but when setting up for a show i think it would be the best if i could look at it see the 1 jack and just plug in.

My effects unit would want to be like this
(effect>Effect>effect>effect> Vol in and out> Effect> effect)

I think you understand what i want to do. So how would i wire up that single stereo jack, and make something for the effects to go to and from for the cable to plug into my board.

Thanks for your help!

Does anyone know how to build something that could be inbetween some effects in a multi unit that has one jack on the outside for sending the signal and returnign the signal to the vp?

Thanks
