Hey guys
made a homebrew distortion circut yesterday and used a pot to change the gain amount in the feedback loop of my opamp. anyways changed it to a Pot so i could get a gradual increase in gain and clipping. anyways it was staying very low and at the end all of a sudden boosted its gain. so im assuming i had the wrong type of pots.
i was wondering if anyone could explain the pots (linear log,1 + b and all the shi* i dont undertand) and their uses? thanks

that gives you a brief run-through of pots. i'm not very good with using sarcasm by the way.

it sounds like you were using a log (audio) taper pot and you probably need a linear taper.

darron beat me to it...
