GGG Mini Mixer (buffer question)

Is it really necessary to use input buffers if the mixer is only intended for use with synthesizers? I know the standard circuit has quite low input impendence and will suck tone from guitar pickups - but what about output from synths and keyboards?

Shouldn't be a problem, the rule of thumb for a good input impedance to get good voltage transfer and not suck a lot of current (which is what you want for signal stuff) is to have the destination have 10x or higher impedance than the source.  I'm betting your synths have a low output impedance, so input of the ggg mixer shouldn't be too low to work out well. 

For power transfer (voltage times current) you want an equal impedance on the source and the destination (speaker cabinets for example).  And for good current transfer you want the destination to be 1/10 of the source impedance.
