I have a CD4049 I am looking to use. Found a stripboard layout for a circuit named Morula though the search on this forum pulled up nothing about it. Has anyone built it?

The Tone God

Funny. I got this from a search using just "Morula":

It was nordine's FX-X entry that month.

There are also a few other interesting 4049 entries that month that you could look into.

Thanks. I play bass so the Morula looks good for me. Shall give it a go this weekend.

Would also love to see a layout for that Nyquist Aliaser. Soundclips are amazing.

Funny I was searching for the thread to repost the layout. The first one has a couple of errors.

hey guys, thanks for the interest

herr.satz, tell me how it did when you build it, i suspect it may react different through different rigs (because of the resonant emphasis the caps give)

DiamondDog

Sorry for dragging up a dead thread...

Has anyone got a build report on the Morula circuit, especially when used to a guitar not bass? There's very little in the search, and as little in the galleries.

Nordine, you said:

Can you expand on that, and which caps etc? This looks like a good circuit to play with in those odd minutes.  :-X

Thanks!

hey, its cool youre interested on this little filter thing  ;D

lets see,
using this schematic as reference: http://aronnelson.com/gallery/album107/Morula_Schematic

you got two sets of caps:
C4 and C5
and
C2 alone

the C4/C5 combo define the bassically the wah sweep... these values are fine for bass, maybe for guitar you'll be pleased using smaller caps, as a .002 with .001 (or 680pf) pair

C2 define the resonance emphasis freq, don't know how to explain it, its like a wah 'tone' control... alter its value and use which you like better

messing with it weeks ago i found that changing R4 for a 1M resistor cleans nearly all the oscillator thumping, worth a try

cheers

Thanks for that! I'd seen mention of it, then it sorta petered out.

I understand what you're saying, so up, up and away! I'll try it out with what you've said in mind, and see how we go.

Hopefully I'll have a build report soon.  ::)

Cheers!
