hey guys, i still don't get what is the spst necessary for?

can i just put the 3pdt and that will turn the effect on and off?

The circuit itself must be always on, because of the CMOS switching that Danelectro uses. The spst would just turn it on and be left alone, while the 3pdt would just engage/disengage the effect, true-bypassing it. It can also be done by jumpering the wires where the original switch are connected, I believe.

It's not in front of me right now, but I think I jumped pins 2 to 12 on the 4013 chip on the board where the jacks are. 

I remove the jacks and used a 3PDT.  I also took the led off and used the third leg of the 3PDT to switch on/off the led.
