Hey ya'll, Quick question on buffers.

I have a total of 4 boss pedals in my chain that will have built in buffers. I also have a General Guitar gadgets IC buffer that i have purchased to put somewhere else in the chain to maintain a strong signal flow throughout this long true bypass flow.

Note, the Boss pedals will not be true bypassed, the signal will always run through them. The following is my signal flow. A * represents a pedal with a built in buffer. All other effects and loops are 3PDT stomp or toggle bypassed. (this is all going to be in a pete cornish style rig)

Input
Fuzz
CS2*
Dynacomp
S/R for Whammy (true bypassed)
Overdrive1
Rat
Muff w/ EQ1
Drive 2
Amp Effects loop s/r
Mistress
Phaser
Vibe
CE2*
Tremolo
EQ2
EQ3
DD20*
DD20 (2)*
Send to Amp

Where should i place this other buffer? Im thinking maybe after the S/R for the whammy... I do not own a whammy yet so im not sure what brand/type it will be. Should I even include more than one other buffer? They are pretty cheap and easy to build... I want to maintain a strong signal flow.

Thanks!

I'm putting my buffer first, and possibly other places.

Hmm... maybe between the BMP and drive2... that's the biggest gap between buffers...
I am not responsible for your imagination.

In my opinion a buffer at the beginning (but after the Fuzz!) and a buffer at the end of a pedalboard is enough, especially if there are some good buffered pedals (like BOSS) in the signal-chain.
So maybe after the Drive 2, when going into the amp.
Or maybe before the mistress, when sending the signal back to your board.
That would be the first spots I would test the buffer. But maybe you even won't need your extra buffer. Just try ... ;)

Honestly, with one at the beginning and one at the end, I think you'll be good.  What's going through the effects loop?  If it's a lot of effects, you could put it in there, and then you'd only be using the extra buffer when you turn on that signal path, ie; when you really need it.

If i'm useing a comp that should be after the fuzz?

If i'm using a line like this where should my buffers go

ABY
Fuzz
S/R
Wah
Comp
BD2
Muff
Color sound power boost
distortion +
Butler Tube Driver
Butler Tube Driver
Ge7
Phase 90/ small stone
Electric Mistress
S/R
S/R
S/R
Delay

3 outs

Would line drivers be good on each out?
