I seem to be having some trouble getting mine to work. All I'm getting for output seems to be computer noise. Hard disks, fans, mouse movement (!) etc, but no audio through the probe.

I found -12v on the ATX header on my motherboard, so jacked it from there. So now I've got my + and - 12, and common hooked up to the circuit, with power going to the Vcc + and - and to the two diodes as in the schematic.

Substitutions:
100k pot is 10kB pot
TL082 is TL081, with pinout compensated for
layout is on perf, and different from the weird layout on the xoscope site.

I'm wondering about the two offset null's. I tried grounding them both, and that seems to kill the noise, but also seems there's no signal either. Should I short them? Leave them open?
I like amps etc.

That's a little rich for my blood. I think maybe I'll just try a different buffer with a dual opamp instead of the single.

Btw, sorry about not being able to give answers about the hardware, I finally got a real scope given by a friend and stopped working on it.
