i just FINALLY troubleshot my uglyface i built on a breadboard tonight.

(threshold resistor was wrong value. i'm still learning my resistor codes

i really like it so far.

it seems like it need a bit of work.

i too am interested in a blend mod. i remember seeing it mentioned a while back.

i'm pretty much interested in and mod available for thew uglyface.

Isn't the output of the ugly face (555) much louder than the cleanish output of the JRC386?  Might need to pad it down before mixing in the cleanish, to get an even feeling blend and not have to mess with the vol pot.  I haven't tried it by the way, just thats how I bet  it would go down, since the 555's output swings to the rails.

EDIT: one way to lower the output of the 555 a bit is to string several diodes in series with the V+ supplying it, to get it down to ~ 5v, 5x 1n914's would do it.  That has the advantage of not lowing the 555s output impedance, like a voltage divider on the output would, which would leave a little clean blended in at the uglyface end of the blend pot.

I'm happy with the Uglyface as it is, so didn't bother with this mod in the end, but it adds up to a pot that enables you to mix some of the cleaner signal from the 386 output back into the wilder noise coming out of the 555, sort of like the blend knob on a blue box, but it wouldn't bring the clean signal up to the same level as the 555, as the 555 output is louder.
Try it if the Ug is too wild for you.

That was my fault   I deleted the website the schem and clips were on, if there were any clips. I should rebuild that uglyface and box it this time, liked the noise! Basically sounded like a bagpipe or harmonizer type of effect.
