flatline comp...

i'm just bored with my Tpad Ross Comp, it messes too much my sound and i want something more transparent... i'm looking into the Flatline, i heard a lot of good things about it (MarkM?  )
i found Mark's PCB and bcreekmur Vero, since i'm doing only one for me i'll do it on Vero but i noticed a difference with Mark's layout, the 100uF cap between the diodes series is only a 0.1uF ceramic on Mark's layout... what difference does that cap makes? (is it related to the use of a LED/LDR assembly as opposed to a VTL5CX?) (by the way, witch VTL5C (2-3?) is better for this project?

question about the Vero layout: it's got a LED on the top right side of the board that seems to be always on? what is this for?? (does it light according to compression?)

The vero works perfectly - made one !
The top right is an indicator LED - wire it up to a 3PDT switch as normal.

I also used the vero for my build, works great.

I made my own LDR/LED combo, using a couple of tips from Marty:

I think I made a boo-boo on my interpretation of the schem......
It looked like an "nF" to me but in reality it's a uF. Oops! 
I built mine like this and seemed to work fine to me.

maybe that's why you were raving about the Flatline? you might have made it better!

One can only hope but, I'm usually not that lucky.
Most of the time my mistakes aren't very good!
