Im doing this layouthttp://aronnelson.com/gallery/NaBos-Layouts/green_russian_parts, correct me if im wrong, but the 12k resistor from +9v is not enough to lower it to around 4v for the Q2 collector. anyway, thats my problem for now, I absolutley have no shorts, the 12k resistor rates at 11.86k, which should  give around the desired results, but I get 8.6v onQ2 collector. that falls over to Q3, so im positive this is the problem.

How do I lower the voltage to around 4v?, im sure the layout is fine, im just trying to nderstand.
thanks!

So I asks what are the base and emitter up to ?
And suggest the debugging pages requirements be shown for the transistor gain stage.

Oh thanks for the reply, yes Im aware of posting the other voltages and I should of at least reported the ones on Q2, sorry about that, I did not post all cause I though I had it narrowed down, so anyway here it is.

Q1 E  147mV
     B  722mV
     C  4.34v

Q2  E  0V
      B  400mV
      C  8.85v

Q3   E  oV
       B 395mV
       C  8.04V

Q4   E 936mv
       B 1.5V
       4.58V

thanks again !

i usually replace q1-q3's collectors with 22K resistors and base resistors at 15K.

Does it sound bad eh?  If it doesn't- leave it alone  :icon_lol: .  If it does sound bad; i'd reccomend that you use a 20K trimmer  ;) .  or 10K for that matter; if you REALLY wanna lower it, man.

I supose you could also create sort of a "sag" control right before the 12K as well......

Just a couple of ideas........
