What can I do with these?

 - 2SC1617 (Toshiba)
- BU205 (Toshiba) x2
- AC188
- GC181A
- BF241

After a quick dig around here I found these transistors. I was wondering, what can I do with these babies?

any number of fuzzes...

Jaques favorite transistors for fuzz faces if the AC188.

The first two are big big big ones.

Can I take out the transistors of any fuzz and try any of these I have?
I mean, I must respect the NPN or PNP thingie and the pinout, of course.

Si bipolars are nearly infinitely swappable, minding the polarities, pnp/npn, disregarding actual performance in specific ways...we tend to be picky, some circuits are very picky about which type or individual specimen is used.
See GEO for gain of FF transistors. ROG for many variations including Fet use.
For BMP you'll probably prefer HG/LN types like 2n5088 or 5089/MPSA18's etc.
Some circuits respond best with low gain transistor.
Some circuits like best a slightly leaky Ge transistor.
Some circuits like buffer work with just any ROTM Si bipolar Q.

Convention creates following, following creates convention.
