First things first: A huge thank you goes out to everyone who has made a pedal before and posted any how to's or even just the final pic in the 'Pictures' thread. I most likely read or looked at your work somewhere along the way before taking the dive into DIY. Huge thanks to MarkM for his awesome enclosure etching tutorial - excellent stuff, and to tonepad for the photo essays. The final result would have neen NOWHERE NEAR as nice if it weren't for the great work and documentation of others on these forums.

Now onto the actual build! The pedal is a TS808 clone, The ITS8 from GGG
The enclosure etching was a little messed up - my first attempt at all things DIYstompbox - but I'm still really pleased with the outcome.
Excuse the slightly grainy photos - they were all taken with my Sony Ericsson k750i phone.

I have documented my progress a little on my 'Projects Blog' - www.jarrodbell.com
And a heap of photos of the build along the way are in the Tube Screamer gallery - http://www.jarrodbell.com/wp-gallery2.php?g2_itemId=19
Here is a photo of the finished product:

This thread is mainly just to say thankyou to everyone. Hopefully if people keep thanking others for their hard work they will keep on doing it!

On a side note: I have a heap of left over components, so if anyone in Australia (I live down in Torquay, Vic) is looking for some parts to build one of these, or something else that uses the same parts, let me know and I'm sure I can organise shipping stuff to you at my cost + actual shipping. I bought in bulk (as I have a wholesale account with Altronics) - so might as well help other Aussies out who are looking for some cheap parts / kits.

Welcome to the board and to the obsession known as DIY!

The pics look nice. That's quite an impressive first build. You made your own pcb and etched your enclosure too. I built my first couple pedals on pcb's from GGG, then I used vero for a couple. Now I'm just getting started making pcb's and I don't think I'll get to enclosure etching for a while.

Congrats!

BoostAddict

that's awesome

GREAT looking enclosure

i'm debating whether or not I should build a tube screamer since I already have a keeley copy modded sd-1 and a bad monkey.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I thought if I'm going to have a go at this, I might as well go all in. Lots of time spent reading up on how to do all this stuff reaaallly helped!
