so i just bought the NSL-32 photocoupler to use in my termulus lune build. i'm using the pcb and layout from the fuzz central site, and i'm a little confused from the parts layout how the photocoupler should be situated. also, i'm assuming that the leg with a silver "-" on it is the anode of the LED section, correct?

  or
Take an LED, get the DMM set so it can beep when polarity is switched, find the - flat side on the LED, compare the beeping/polarity to the NSL.
  or
9v PS with LED>4k7 current limiting resistor, measuring the resistance of the LDR side, apply, then lift the PS with alternate polarities until you see the R reading of the LDR change.

okay, switched to tonepad's layout and rebuilt. my LED is blinking to the rate, but i'm getting good voltages and tremolo. i just have a few quirks i would like some help ironing out:

1) i used a salvaged pot for the depth, and from the markings i'm now realizing it is marked as a "d" taper?!?! when the pot is minimized, i get clean signal with no tremolo, and when minimized i get a set depth. in the middle, i get no signal at all. very odd
2) when i turn the spacing knob it acts almost like a volume. i was thinking about leaving this out anyway, what do you guys think?
3)i'm not getting a very deep tremolo, but i think that might have to do with that odd pot.

any ideas?
