Just wondering why the Splitter Blend has the inputs designated as red and green? I initially thought there was a transformer in the project because of the green and red sends. It seems that compared to the original schematic that all the send and returns need to be tied to ground but it's not noted on the ROG schematic.

I love the smell of solder in the morning.

there's no significance in the names "red" and "green."  they are just labels.

the send and return jacks should be treated like all jacks:  the collar is hooked up to signal ground.  i don't know why some folks do not note this on their schematics and some do, other than that it's one of those things taken for granted.  in a typical application, the jacks would be grounded through the aluminum case, which they touch because they are not insulated.

all the best, gm

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread.

So effectively if I build this splitter I can play 2 instruments into one amp?

You would only need the bottom half which is the blend section. It's a little mixer with two inputs and one output.

That depends what instruments and how many arms you've got.

Seriously though, I don't think you even need the bottom half of the SB to do that? just build a passive blend pot in a box or if you dont need to blend, just an ABY box / Y cable totally passive.

I assume you can just split the 'splitter' part form the 'blender' part.

2 guitars into one amp will need the blender part, where one guitar into two amps would need the splitter.

It's a bit like what I use in my mfx-project (see link in my sig).
