craig anderton preamp?

is craig andertons preamp considered a guitar pedal? or could u put a power amp on it and use it as a head?

hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe that any effect preamp can be used in conjunction with a power amp to drive a speaker. I'm not familiar with Craig Anderton's preamp, but if it is your typical stompbox, I would assume it can be used to drive a poweramp.

I've been thinking about building a head with a few different FET preamp channels myself, namely the Dr Boogie and Thor and Bassman Fetzer.
