Hey guys, I'm working on a layout, but I want to use something different for offboard wiring.  You know on Vox Wah boards and crybaby boards, offboard connectors have that push-on rectangular thing, from which wires extend out to the offboard components?  I'm looking to find some of those, at a bunch of different sizes, to make offboard wiring easier (and working on PCB's easier too) for my own layouts, that way I can just take that connector off, and lift the PCB up and easily change things or swap a new board in.  I've been looking for a while now on Mouser, and I don't have the catalog to search for it in there... does anyone know the name for those pieces, and have a mouser part number?  I'll also need the male connectors which mount to the PCB as well.  Thanks for the help, its driving me crazy because I don't know the technical term for them!   ???

Terminal: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=42728&doy=29m5
or: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=34145&doy=29m5

You can get the male part from smallbear: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=64

Dont take this as gospel...

Try searching mauser for crimp terminal... I arent going to do it, that catalog is a nightmare! haha

I'm not sure if those are exactly what I'm looking for.  I found a small picture here: http://i20.ebayimg.com/04/s/07/8f/ca/a9_2.JPG  You can see the offboard connector in the top right (that is only the male part).

I saw something similar to that while I was looking for the crimp terminals...

Search "terminal" and see what you get...

I try and do my boards like this.  On Maplin and Rapid Electronics websites, type in 'pcb headers'.  Not sure that they're exactly the same as the ones in dunlop wahs etc but exactly the same spacing and height.  You'll need the plug, the socket and the terminals (sold in strips at maplin) which you solder the bare bit of wires to.  I think some crimp the wire so you don't need to strip it back or solder on a terminal, but I haven't tried these.

I think that's what you want.  I recommend the friction lock, they aren't that much more in cost (if you're not going into large production) and they won't come apart on you.  We use them all the time at work, very nice parts.
