I have a larger enclosure that I wasn't sure what to do with, and it occurred to me that I could build a Blue Clipper, Red Ranger, Purple Peaker, and Green Ringer into it to make big noise maker.  I plan on making them each switchable via a 3PDT each, but what I'm wondering is, is there a preferred order I should put them in?  In other words I only plan on putting in 1 input and 1 output jack, so if I am putting them in series is there an optimal order to put them in so that if more than one effect is turned on they do not negate/interfere with each other.  Any other concerns to keep in mind, or any reason this would be a bad idea?

Red Ranger->Purple Peaker->Blue Clipper->Green Ringer
or
Red Ranger->Blue Clipper->Green Ringer->Purple Peaker

This way, you can get a treble boost into your distortion and an octave fuzz

Are you just picking them because the all begin with a colour? I'd swap the red ranger or purple peaker for an orange squeezer, just for a bit more variety  ;)

  I'd at least socket the Dist+ diodes if you haven't tried different combinations, and consider a 100k gain knob.
  The red and purple ones are frequency specific enhancers? perhaps they'd sound good as having 'one color / the other color' type switch inside a total bypass switch.
  Green ringer can sound great before or after a clipping/boost circuit, maybe try both of those positions with it before fixing in place.
  Actually I'd do that also with the red and purple circuits, trying them both in pre and post distortion positions to try to decide which is most useful.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I didn't include the orange squeezer because I have already built one (and it hasn't left my pedal board since).  The idea to put these all in one box came to me yesterday as a way to use a larger hammond enclosure that I bought surplus almost a year ago, and I already have a number of the parts.  I figure these are all relatively small circuits with minimal knobs and switches so they should fit nicely in the case I have.

I was already planning on the 100K gain knob as I have an A100 pot that I pulled from something else.  Will socketing the diodes make a large difference in this circuit?  I have some LEDs and Ge1N100s I could toss in for fun once  it's built.  For that matter the circuit calls for a TL071, if I use a 741 will that just be a bit noisier, or is it a negligible difference for this circuit?

Do you mean build it so that only one EQ module is on at any one time?

I suppose in the end I can get them all mounted and experiment with order just by changing the wiring.  It would be nice to work out a way to change the order on the fly using switches (I think there's an chapter on this in DIY projects for Guitarists) maybe I'll do that if I come across some cheap toggles.

I think this is a great idea :icon_idea:

The other option is to make it reconfigurable. You could use jacks and just connect them how you want.

The jacks for each effect occurred to me, but I wanted to just use one for in and one for out and not have a lot of other clutter.  I think my initial order will be red ranger, blue clipper, purple peaker and green ringer, and later I may look into some 4PDT switches for order switching.  I really don't think it will be too hard to switch the order just by re-soldering connections if I want to experiment.

I finished this project today.  I am really happy with it.  I think the biggest surprise the the purple peaker section which is capable of providing some pretty drastic sonic changes.  I socketed the diodes in the blue clipper so I will definitely be playing around with those.  Does anyone have any experience with the 100K trimmer mod explained on runoffgrooove for biasing the op amp?  Is it worth doing?
