I am building a BMP for a bass player friend of mine. i know it sounds great stock on bass, but i want him to be able to dial in some clean to ensure he has his tone shining through. as opposed to a blend knob, i want separate pots for clean and dirty volume levels. would this be as simple as wiring the clean signal to a 100k volume pot which he can use when effect is engaged to dial in clean signal? or would i have to place a buffer or something in the path before that volume?

i want separate pots for clean and dirty volume levels.
Split the pot wiring of the blend pots *original wiring assignments.
Using a '2 lug' pot between *pin 1 and wiper.
Another 2 lug pot between *pin 3 and wiper.
  OR
Wire two regular volume pots with third pin ground assignments.
Tie the wipers [outputs] of the pots together, treat them to the original pots wiper wiring assignment.
But I'd take a look at a 2 ch mixer before deciding on one of those choices^, which'd be about the same thing except the signal voltage dividing [volume controls] would be getting done at before the actives input, perhaps reducing mixer type distortion.
  Someone else ?

Did this blending for the Big Muff work out?
Somebody I know asked me to mod his Russian Muff so that it has a blend for the clean and dirty signal, but I'm confused as how to wire this exactly? Perhaps somebody knows of a link or schematic, it would help out a lot :)

i eventually abandoned it because i had a time frame to finish the pedal but i know everyone here seems to have had good luck using the buff n blend circuit. it's labelled well so you can wire easily.

Thanks for bringing this up again,
the circuit seems allmost "too simple"
are there any issues with it?

Barcode80

dunno, but there is a layout in my gallery which a commenter has said works, so you can try it out! just let me know if it works for you.

foxfire

i have used it with ggg muff fuzz and a 4ms.fuzz jade without any problems.

do you mean my layout or the circuit itself?
