What kind of paper (or medium) do you use to get a printed design on your pedals like the ones in the "pictures" thread???  You know like to label your knobs volume, tone, ect. without it looking shitty.  Is it a sticker? I would really like to complete an enclosure I have but not without the graphic and labels.

Thanks, Grant

Many people have great results using decals either water-slide or the normal type (sticker like). They can be easily ordered via Smallbear or Banzai Effects.
I believe you will have plenty of reading to when you enter 'decal' into the search engine ;)

Waterslide decals. In brief:
*Print design onto waterslide paper with toner (photocopy or laser printer)
*Spray with clear coat (I do 2 coats) and allow to dry
*Soak in water for about 30 secs-1min
*Slide off onto pedal enclosure and allow to dry
*Spray with clear coat (I do 2 or 3 coats here)

Just remember, since they are transparent they won't work too well on a dark background

So basically you first spray clear coat on the painted enclosure before applying the decal?
Isn't it so that the design has to be mirrored when printing it?

No, you clear coat the design so that the toner stays on there. Doesn't have to be mirror imaged either because it just slides straight off. There's like a thin sheet of clear plastic sitting on a sheet of paper. When you soak them in water, the clear sheet slides off from the backing paper and has an adhesive under it that sticks to whatever you put it on (in this case, the enclosure).

Might pay for you to search for some tutorials on the topic

I used to use water slide decals, which worked ok for me, lately I've been using photo-gloss sticker paper that I found on ebay.  It's not quite as glossy as real photo paper, but you have to clear coat it anyway.  It comes out really glossy, and you can do fancy, full color graphics easily.  The only trouble is if you want the label to be plain and the same color as you enclosure, because it's pretty much impossible to match the color up.

That's ok, it's not a brand name.   ;D
