Hey guys I'm moding up a TS9DX and was wondering where is the resistor that allows the pedal to clean up better when the gain is turned down? I have a feeling it's on one of the smaller oards and not the main board. Can anybody help me out?????

How about a bypass capacitor to preserve highs when you turn the gain down?  It go between wiper and hot side of gain pot, I believe (you might have to play with it), and be about 1nF.   I'm sure you can find more info if you search on here for "bypass capacitor"...

It's a 51k off the diodes in the FB loop to wiper of the gain pot, should be easy to spot as it's the only 51k in the pedal.
I dont have a "DX" schem, otherwise it would be easier.
Change that to a 20k and the 4k7 off the same "node" where the .047uf is to a 2k2 for the "more/less" mod.
Does'nt the ts9dx have a "hot" mod anyway ? or am I thinking ts7 ....

Thanks guys, I found the resistor and swapped it out. However, on the other small board there is a 470K resistor. Do I need to be concerned with this one? Something is telling me NO but, I can't be sure. HELP!?!?!?!

AC30Dirty

well, the pedal sounds god so far. I just decided to leave the 470K resistor on one of the small boards I had mentioned earlier alone. Now I have a clipping diode opinion or suggestion if you will. I left the stock diode configuration for the TS9 mode, i put 1X1N4001, 2X1N4001 in series for the HOT mode to get asymetrical clipping and TURBO of course has no diodes but, I was wondering what I could use for the + (PLUS) mode. It has 4 spces for diodes . 2 going one way and 2 going the other. Could I use transistors here like maybe J201's? I would like something different. Any suggestions???????

You can use mosfets as clippers, I've had 2N7000's working well and IRF520's - but they are BIG !
search mosfet clippers .....

well.... for the plus mode on my TS9DX i went with LED----->1N4001,
                                                                          1N4148------<LED
Like so.... It's sounds pretty cool. I get a real AC/DC type tone. However, the LED's don't light up when I strike a chord. The LED's must be working because when I switch to that mode the volume jumps up significantly. They just don't light up. Could there be somethig wrong here???

MartyMart

Sounds like they are working, did you carefully check orientation ?
They don't always light up, depends what voltage is across them.
Longer lead and smallest internal metal section is "+" side.
