last night i put a lpb2 and a hogsfoot together in a single enclosure. i'm only ever gonna use one at a time so i put a spst on the output(of both) right before the single volume control and the switch works. i just wanted to check and see if there isn't a better place to put the switch? i keep thinking it would be better to put the switch on the power supplies to the circuits instead of the output signal?

Hi!

Yes, you can put the switches at the power supply line of each effect, but I would recommend you to use a dpdt or a 3pdt to switch between the two effects. Just use the traditional true bypass arrangement and replace the jumper with the other effect. You can also implement a more complex arrangement to shunt the input of the effect not been used.

Nope, thats the right place. If you connected their outputs straight together and switched the power:
A - the switching of the power would likely affect the performance (maybe pops, maybe a lag before sound was heard)
B - the sound output would be adversley affected by the ouput electronics of the 'off' effect.

Racedriver205 is right and that's why I reccomended the modified true bypass arrangement.

thank you both. i'm tring not to spend any money on this one or at least till i know i like it. so i'll stick with the spst till i get back from my tour at which point i can start buying parts again.
