Darr's amp repair book is great because it goes into practical applications of the electronic principles.

The issue of both the Boscorelli book and it's distribution here has been discussed before:

The bottom line is until the copyright issue is resolved it will not be distributed here.

Jenny, some of us do have the power!

How come I knew that would involve someone who looks like a tube ?

*cough*..... I wasn't trying to suggest posting it here. I'm sure Aron isn't interested in maybe getting sued. But you know there's some folks out there who, um, like to play things risky, and maybe wouldn't mind setting up a little space on a .ru Ruski server......*cough* :icon_wink:

Don't forget "The Art Of Electronics".  You can still find copies for about 80 bucks.  It's written by two Harvard professors which I point out to my clients at Yale every chance I get.  It's written in simple language and doesn't get too deep into theory.

But really, start building things.  You'd be surprised what you pick up by just building some stuff.

Thank you for understanding the issue regarding this here. As for what other people do elsewhere that is their choice. This is sort of an offset of the whole "restricted materials" issue being talked about here which as I keep saying is really about respect. In the case of the book it is not just the copyright laws we are dealing with but also trying to respect the author. The view of many is that Boscorelli is one of the fore fathers of our hobby and this equates to him having many people's respect. To violate his rights would be disrespectful of him. Once again it is an individual's choice to if they will respect him or not but it would reflect on the person's character IMHO.

Enough of that.

I think the Art of Electronics is a great book but I feel some of the information in it is outdated as technology has progressed. Most of the information that would pertain to the older stuff we do here is still gold though. The Forrest Mimms are great IMHO as well. I remember when Radio Shack sold a series based on his work.
