Sovtek tube chassis opinions

I'm thinking about doing a project using the same chassis Sovtek/EH uses for their tube pedals like the Hot Tubes, English Muff'n, Black Finger, etc.  Does anybody have any opinions as to the size, material, etc of these chassis?

You could ask Doug Hoffman about them (www.el34world.com). He sells them and uses them for a tube pedal project of his. He seems to be pleased with them. I've never messed with one personally - I don't like the exposed tubes right next to the footswitch....

I'm not interested in buying them.  I get them wholesale from Sovtek.  Does anyone think they're too big, too small, or just right?  Personally, I was surprised how small those pedals were the first time I saw one.

I have used them. I wish that there was a ready made tube mount for the sockets and I wish there were an easy to use power supply for it.

If I understood anything about power supplies and how to design them, I would make a drop in power supply using the Toroidal that I sell and the matching tube mounting bracket.

I use a standard hammond steel box 6x4x2 or 7X5X2 and can get the HV power supply, tubes and all inside the box so nothing sticks out but the knobs and switches. preamp tubes dont need the amount of cooling that poweramp tubes do, there is no reason to stick the tubes out of the box in a pedal, except for easy swapability.

If you're buying 'em wholesale, how would you feel about doing some price sharing?

28 bucks is quite a bit.

I think that after I paid the shipping to get them here, marked them up, and shipped them out to customers they would cost much less than Hoffman.

Huh? When I had them available, no one wanted them. I ended up being stuck with them and started using them for my pedals.

It took so long to sell 10 that I gave up. Some people committed but changed their mind etc...

Hi hi, one question.. ABout the EH tube enclosure, do you believe 5pots, 2 dpdt, 2 12ax7.. and two transformers 220-12 one 1 amp, the other 300 mili amp(not toroidal) will fit in this enclosure without having major issues.. (noise, etc.. if done with correct layout obviously)
