I just finished my Tube Screamer(YEAAHH) and it still has one little problem. The volume is very quiet. I can hear everything, and there's no hum, but the volume is very low compared to the rest of my board. I have the pot all the way up and its still very low. Any suggestions?

check the debugging thread, get your readings, and report back. :)

I dont have one of those audio probe things. I just need to know if anyone else has had this problem and what did they do.

you don't need an audio probe to check your voltages, just a multimeter.... though an audio probe is easy to make and helps a lot.

your problem could be for a variety of reasons, so the only way we'll be able to help is if you post your voltages and follow the debugging thread

Well I dont have a multimeter either. I guess I'll find one.

harbour freight (if you have those in your area) sells a cheapie for under $5.

while not a super great quality one, it should work for your purposes.

this is all part of the learning process. i would venture that every single vet here has had to debug more than their fair share of circuits...many times, everything "looks" right, but in reality, isnt. Thats where checking voltages and part values comes n handy.
