hey,

Anyone who can suggest programs for mac that would make it simple for me to say input my schematic and convert it to a perboard alyout without much thought would be a savior, although if it was out there already i think we'd all be saved. Mabey im wrong. Anyway i have a schematic all the parts but no i dea where to get started as far as placement of the componets...making it compacts..correct connection etc..is there a guide available for this? If so id like to know. Thanks for the help.

Perfboard can easily be viewed as a special case of printed circuit board. The "special case" is that after you place the parts, you have to run the traces with component leads and wires.

I suggest you go to Small Bear and get "PCB Layout for Musical Effects". The first few chapters will tell you more about placement for perfboard than you can use for your first few layouts.

PCB layout - it's not just for PCBs any more!!

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.
