hey guys!

i've never ever had luck with vero, so i thought i'd give it another shot with this layout for the fuzzcentral rangeblaster:

i also normally box everything up before i try it, but i thought i'd give this a shot before.  needless to say, it sounds misbiased, and the battery was heating up.  i'd like to take readings to debug, but i'm afraid that i'll blow a 9volt.  obviously this is a ground issue... i have out running to the out jack, in running to the in jack, everything grounding to the in jack, and a 9v battery clip wired up.  what would be causing the 9v to be shorting to ground in this sort of setup?  something on the board?  also, would this short be causing the tranny to sound misbiased?

Hello Jonathan. What I would do in that situation is check every part of the circuit very carefully with the layout untill your'e satisfied it's all ok. Be careful about D2 on the board, K is the end with the stripe on the body of the diode and shoud go to positive. Does that diode get hot when it's powered up? Also there's 3 places on the board where the tracks are cut make sure you cut them in the right place. Hope that helps.

you're the man!  in an idiotic mistake i had switched the ends of the protection diode...

thank you so much!  this sounds GREAT.  i've finally gotten a vero layout to work

love you guys
