Overdrive/distortion idea; Rangemaster bass content

Been thinking about this for a while...

So, I just completed a Rangemaster, which sounds real nice, but of course it lops off quite a bit of low end.  So to counteract that, I turn the bass up on the amp, sounds nice and full, with that nice crunch on the top end.  But either the RM has to be on at all times(w/ amp bass increased), or I need to use a EQ right after it to regain the lost low end if I want to make it usable as a switchable effect, and have my amp settings normal.  So, I was thinking about trying to come up with something similar to CA's Frequency Booster(opamp selective freq boost), and tack that on to the output of the RM and have it all in one box.  The treb content would be getting the majority of crunch, and then the freq booster would restore the low end content, presumably, not overdriven.  Kinda similar to CA's Quadra Fuzz.  I'm thinking that maybe the output of the RM might overload the input of the freq booster though.  I don't want to foul up the RM's nice tone by adding opamp distortion to it.  I've always wanted a pedal similar to this in a typical 808 style overdrive as well.  Sort of like the Sparkledrive concept, but instead, blending clean low end with overdriven mids/highs.  I'm thinking maybe for the 808 type crkt, have a;

buffer > signal split > HP filter > clippers > blend > (buffer > SWTC?) out
                             \ LP filter >                 blend /

So I guess I have two things I'm contemplating here, one being a simple idea for the "RM high freq crunch > active bass boost", and the other "808 style split > clip high freq > blend with clean low freq only > blend".  Does this sound too far out there??  8)

Try the ROG Omega. You can dial in the tone ("Range" pot) from treble to full range boost. I was very impressed!
It's very simple as well.
