Lowpass filter/Tone control

For pedals without tone control, Would you all aggree that the simple mods page lowpass filter would be the easiest/best bet? I just want to be able to control eq as simply as possible. thanks

If you want a flexible, simple tone control, I would go with the big muff pi tone control. It's a few more components than a standard low pass filter, but it can do much more, and still only uses one knob. Here's a link:
