on/off mini switch to disable 9v battery

hi, i have a ross phaser that can only be powered by a 9v battery as the dc jack is + ground.
i'd like to install a mini on/off switch [in the existing hole for the 1/8'' dc jack] to disable the battery while the pedal is connected to other pedals in the pedal board. the mini switch has three lugs and im dealing with four wires.
1] battery +
2] battery -
3]input jack +
4] board -
(the wire im calling board - is black and currently connected to the battery snap -)
i know this must be a simple procedure but i dont want to risk damaging this lush sounding phaser.
