I recently build an Umble (from an OLC kit), and I noticed that the tonestack is basically a three-knob Fender shape (see http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=35951.0), with three component changes. I actually really like this tone stack, as I feel I can get the basic Fender sounds, plus a lot more.

It would seem the Marshall tone stack looks exactly the same on paper, but almost every different component has a different value. Example:

So I was thinking of building the Marshall tone stack on a separate, small perf board and then using a standard on/on DPDT switch to select between the two. Would this work?

Thanks!

Bump.  :)

I'm also thinking about doing something similar with my Kustom Tube 12a practice amp. It has a similar tone stack configuration, but with some odd values and a mid shift switch. I'd love to give it a Fender/Marshall (and possibly Vox) tone stack.

Looks like it should work fine the way you have it!

Peace!
