Red Llama pre-build quick layout question

Looking at this layout, why are some of the pads squares and most are circles? Does this mean anything?   :icon_confused:

as best as i can tell the square pads under the caps and diodes indicate the + terminal and the square pads not under a component indicate wire connections for the off board wiring. oh and the ones for the pots indicate the ground terminal. basically if you just pay attention to how you orientate your parts you really don't need to pay any attention to the square pads. you can think of them as another way to check your work.
