Hey All,

I have been playing around with a Cornish G2 for the weekend and I recently borrowed my friends Guv'nor.
I was thinking that with a little bit of mods the guv'nor could become a CLOSE alternitive. Not a clone at all.

Now I was wondering On the layout it has the following

IC TL072
2 red led
1 led

I began thinking since it is a very Germanium sounding unit and gets really fuzzy that maybe replacing some of those LEd's with a 1n34a germanium..
Also is ther a diferent IC that would be better for the G2 sound? Or is this a good one to work off of?
Would keeping one of those LED's still help keep it clean?

Which led's should I swap out?

here is the layout http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_mgv_lo.pdf

Thanks guys1

Swap and see!
everyone's opinion and rig is a matter of subjective taste.
Have a look at the Krunk layout and threads for a very nice take on the Guv'nor circuit.  ;)

It was the most amazing this i have ever played. It was like the perfect fuzz. Really thick! It worked well with other pedals before it and after it unlike the Fuzz Face.
Maybe a fuzzy Marshall is what it was like?

Watch the live 8 Pink Floyd set. DG was just using that for his solos....

It was not a fuzz that gets muddy it was very defined and brilliant.
