Phuncgnosis - what the UP side is for?

I had done Phuncgnosis today.
The down side is amazing...superp whooping sound...exceeding my expectation of what i could get.

But...what is the switch to UP is for?
I did get any filtered sound for this side. It sound more like drive sound when in this position.
What's wrong?

Wow, I gotta build this. I assume the filter sweep would sweep upwards.

The up side gives you an ow instead wah effect.  You have to tweak the knob to get it to sound right but it works.

Yes.
The upside is not nearly as responsive as the down.
Not as prenounced.....there's a good term huh?!

Glad to hear that but the POT already at MAX but still no effects...

What LED's did you use?  I knoe the Radio Shack LED's work best for this.  Either red or yellow.  Some brands of LED's don't work.  So I would check into that.

I use a red 5mm LED but don't know the brand. What characteristic i should look for a working LED? Voltage drop when on?
