ROG Multi-Face- Ring Mod?

I was tinkering around with the multi-face I just built and found at certain settings I was able to coax green-ringer-like tones out of it.  Is this something others have noticed or am I on to something new? 

I have it loaded with a .01 input cap. .1 output cap., 2 BC549s.  The ringer effect would come out with the gain maxed, the volume about halfway down (I used a B100K pot instead of an A100K since that's what I had) with my tele pickups in the middle position and the guitar volume about halfway down.    I should also mention that the battery is probably pretty low. 

I set the trimmer by ear, so I don't know what the voltages are, but I wasn't sure if this type of octave effect is possible just from misbiasing.
