Maybe the writers needed a generic image of a land mine and that's the first thing Google turned up?
Either they weren't paying any attention to the actual source of the photo... or someone put it in as a joke and the editor didn't catch it.
No matter what the excuse is, it's absolutely hilarious.

It also shows how ignorant people generally are of electronics. I recall a story about how George Lynch got hassled at a border checkpoint because the guards thought his UniVibe was a bomb detonator.

I've heard of a relatively well known band (can't remember their name at the moment) getting held up by border security for having a pipe-bomb mic in their luggage. I think it took quite a bit of convincing before they were let go with the mic.

I fly A LOT for my guitar tech gig and I'm constantly getting searched by the retards at the TSA because they don't know electronics, especially pedals, from their ass.  My favorite one was from our drum tech, the TSA once took his big, killer drum tuning key because he made the mistake of saying it was a "tool".  "I'm sorry sir but no 'tools' allowed on the plane.  That's what the sign says."  What a crock of sh*t!  He bought another one and when questioned he now tells them that it's his ritual Buddhist prayer talisman!  :)  Sometimes ignorance works in your favor, sometimes it doesn't...
