odd switch popping, not covered....

ive got a guitar that came in with an odd switch popping on the phase switch, right in the middle of the throw. ive replaced it, and still no remedy. what do you folks recommend i do to rid of it? its not a paid job, so dont come down on me for asking, its for a buddy of mine.

gotta get this one figured out tonight, fellas...and after extensive search, im still not finding the appropriate answer.

Switches are always guilty, until proven innocent. (no pun)
Substitute a toggle switch or any spdt switch and see if it doesn't help. You can always change it back.
