I was wondering if anyone could post their thoughts on replacement trannys for AC127s. I'm working on a fuzz, and I really like the sound of the AC127s, but they're too dadgum hard to find. I need to stick with NPNs, too.

Thoughts? Opinions? Build results?

TIA!

Hi
+1 for AC187s. they seem fairly easy to get and not too expensive.
Alternatively, the Japanese germanium are high quality (usually much better than ACs and OCs), so look for something in the appriate series (?? 2SA ??)

I may have a few vintage AC127 germaniums.
In fact I'm pretty sure that's what I tried in a recent LPB2 build, but it was WAY to much for a line driver.
Got anything to trade?
