Tonepad layout

Im building a Fuzz Face using the Tonepad layout and tonepad offboard wiring diagram (the first one...the most basic one).

on the layout and on the board (i ordered one from tonepad. great service by the way) it has a point for the black
battery clip wire to be attached to.. but on the offboard wiring diagram there is no mention of the black wire to be place onto
the board but instead to be wired onto the output jack...i wired it according to the offboard diagram and obviously no results...

am i supposed to wire it to both?

if anyone would help me out i thank them dearly...I am quite obviously new to this.. but im lovin' it..

if i'm looking at the right/same layout as you it looks like there are solder tabs on the board for the battery terminals. are you doing it as a positive or negative ground? either way it can be/should be wired just like any any other pedal.

the TP FF can be made both positive or negative ground...
