Hello Peeps

A couple of questions regarding the XP1000 mod if I may...

I have an earlier model XP100 which (I believe) has a dedicated chip rather than the code snuck into another chip somewhere (photo included). If I had a set of chips but didn't want to piggyback them & use a switch to choose which version, could I simply take one chip out & swap it for another ?? I'm sure this sounds WAY too easy.

Also. Does anyone sell a set of pre-programmed chips or do I have to program them myself ??

Thanks in advance.

The forum has a digital/dsp section. This should be posted over there. There's a looooooooooooooong thread over there concerning the XP; http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=58144.0

To answer your question; your unit is a prime candidate for an XP-ALL+ conversion. The "+" means all 4 programs on one chip, instead of piggybacking four chips. You can then use a rotary switch to switch between the programs you want.

There's a build doc regarding both the XP-ALL, and XP-ALL+ mods here;

Thanks for the reply.

The 1 chip part is very interesting !! I'll post over on the DSP forum later on.

I was able to convert one of that style XP-100 to XP-ALL using the single eeprom and it worked out great.  Was nice not having to do the SMD soldering.

Lovely. Would it be possible to point me in the right direction regarding chips/instructions etc.

Thanks.
