green ringer help?

hi! i've just started building a green ringer from ggg and instantly i've made a mistake. while populating the pcb i mistakenly put Q2 (2N3906 transistor) in the spot Q1 (2N5088/9 transistor) goes in. now before i go in and try to remove what i've already soldered into place (because i suck at desoldering) i figured i'd find out if this little flub of mine made any sort of major difference in the sound or function of the pedal hoping that what i've got is a "happy accident" of sorts. so does

i'm sure it makes a difference, probably a major difference, if Q2 is in where Q1 goes but i figured i'd just find out first before i tried desoldering since, as i stated before, i suck at it.

well the 2n3906 is a pnp transistor and the 2n5088/9 is a npn transistor so unfortionatly you will have to switch it.

thanks. i figured as much. well time to go desolder and hopefully not cook the crap out of the part.

if you have some extra stranded wire on hand you could untwist it a bit and try to use it as de-solder braid. i.e. put the loosely twisted wire over the solder and heat it up and the solder should/might flow into the wire. never tried it but it might work.

already got the part off and fixed the mixup. the pedal is up and running already. i used my soldersucker i got. i just suck at desoldering cus i dont do it very often. just that this time i got the numbers all mixed up in my head. your suggestion sounds like it should work perfectly and if i get stuck again in the future i'm gonna try it out.

it mangles sound nicely. i've been using it with my microkorg and filterbank, even though i got it for my guitar. plus i love that theres no knobs on it cus i do enough knob twiddling already. next build is it phase 100.
