18v wah?

I noticed the Slash-signature Crybaby runs on 18V.
What's the advantage to this? I would think you'd get more headroom, but is that preferable in a wah? More definition?

My bandmate uses an unregulated 9v adapter for his wah... He found an old zoom adapter between his gear, saw something about 9v written on it, and decided to use that...   his crybaby sounds fantastic...   I thought he bought a good crybaby...   I did take a closer look, and noticed that he just runs his normal crybaby on a higher voltage.
That wah cuts through way better....

Maybe he designed it himself and was unhappy running at 4.5 volts?
I'm using dual 9 volts out of convenience for now but I'm sure eventually I'll take advantage of the voltage multiplying chips I have and build a proper bipolar supply so I can get that 16-18 volts out of a single 9 volt.

So far I've experienced this, more power, more performance.
